Moving Back In

Dear friends,

Mary Forman
Sister Mary Forman, Prioress

The historic, major renovation of the residential wing is coming to completion and we sisters will move back in on April 22!

The planning and fundraising began in 2018 after our vote to move forward with the project. We decided it was an important, major step toward preparing for future ministries and the new ways the community is growing. The construction work began in November of last year after we relocated to Spirit Center. Thanks to our donors and a grant from the Murdock Trust, we reached our $2.3 million construction fund goal on February 25 of this year.

Our 70 year-old building has been converted into a contemporary space!

This month, the sisters will be returning to larger spaces with private bathrooms, double the storage, safety features, an asbestos-free environment, increased insulation to the outside walls, ceiling fans and new lighting, upgraded phone and alarm systems, and more. Plus, there are now nine rooms for lay Benedictine co-housing residents.

Read the project overview and progress updates.

We are now working on making all of the 42 new, private bathrooms ready for use with lidded trash cans, bath mats, shower mats, shower caddies, and shower curtains. In addition, we are equipping 22 rooms with wardrobes. These additional expenses come to $11,158.

Please consider supporting this effort to prepare the renovated rooms for the sisters’ move-in later this month.

We would not be in this exciting time without your support and look forward to showing you the progress and celebrating in-person later this year, when it is safe to do so. Thank you for partnering with us as we share Benedictine life!
