Advent Anticipation :: ACT
With Sr. Meg Sass, OSB
December 14, 2022
Sometimes we adults long for the Advent excitement and anticipation we had as children, looking forward to gifts, decorated trees, and Christmas cookies. The Advent Sunday readings paint a different picture. What would it look like if we celebrated Christmas 2022 as followers of Jesus?
Do not be afraid, Joseph, to take Mary as your wife. You will name (the Child) Jesus, Emmanuel.
Spirit Center and the Monastery of St. Gertrude present three in-person Advent reflections. These gatherings are for people who want to explore the purpose/reason for Advent this year, to be ready to receive the gift of this Christmas, to welcome the Christ as He comes today, who are willing to look at Advent from a new perspective. After each presentation, we will conclude with a prayer service.
The sessions stand alone; participation in one does not require participation in the others.
Participants are encouraged to bring a Bible or some other reference to the Advent Sunday readings (Magnificat, Living With Christ, iBreviary, etc.)

I want a relationship with God and I really believe doing it with a group of people whose emphasis is on prayer is the best way to do that.…
