Grateful Simplicity

With Julie Ferraro, Obl.S.B.

October 31 - November 2, 2023

Autumn presents marvelous opportunities for spiritual housecleaning, to refresh the way we look at God, at ourselves, at others, and at the world.

Using concepts drawn from Benedictine and Franciscan spirituality, this holistic retreat will provide suggestions and insights about decluttering body, mind, and soul, shaking the dust off old ideas, and rearranging what is important, in order to move forward on a journey of gratitude, with openness and awareness that every experience, every person we meet, can teach us valuable lessons that bring us closer to God.

Spirit Center and the Center for Benedictine Life at the Monastery of St. Gertrude present three retreats based on the monastery’s mission statement. Each retreat explores a core value of the Monastery of St. Gertrude mission are applicable in all settings for individuals, families, churches, workplaces, and any other place where two or more are gathered. The retreats stand alone; participation in one does not require participation in the others.

Monastery of St. Gertrude Mission

Eager to welcome God’s transforming power in ourselves and our world, we, the Benedictine Sisters of the Monastery of St. Gertrude, seek God together through monastic profession and respond in healing hospitality, grateful simplicity, and creative peacemaking.
