The Monastery of St. Gertrude has a rich history, a vibrant present, and an inspired future.

We are a Benedictine community which welcomes people of all faiths, richly connected through prayer. Our ministries, our community, and this sacred place, the Monastery of St. Gertrude, are made vibrant through the extensive network of people who generously support our mission with their time, talent and financial support.

While we are a canonical community of papal jurisdiction, living in the Diocese of Boise, we do not receive any financial support from the diocese or Church. We are a non-profit, 501c3 organization supported by sisters’ ministries both at home and on mission — and your donations.

The Coronavirus Aid, Relief, and Economic Security (CARES) Act became law on March 27, 2020.  Sections 2204 and 2205 of the CARES Act incentivizes charitable giving to churches and registered non-profits like the Monastery of St. Gertrude by increasing the allowable tax deduction for cash donations made in tax year 2020 and reported on tax returns to be filed next year.  The following chart compares previous federal tax deductions and the expanded federal deductions available for 2020. Your gifts will enable us to fulfill our mission, sustain our dynamic ministries, care for sisters, and preserve and steward our buildings and grounds. Our donors are partners in ministry and are helping to secure the future of the monastery.
