L.I.V.E. – Renewing Our Relationship with God: Praying the Psalms in Lent

The season of Lent is a chance to push the “re-set” button in our spiritual lives. It’s not about how ascetical we can be or how guilty we feel for our sins. Lent is a chance to re-commit to our relationship with God, to start over again. We will see that praying with the Psalms in Lent can give us a language to explore the depths of what this means. The retreat will use a combination of presentation, sharing, lectio, and creative exercises to help us “look forward to holy Easter with joy and spiritual longing” as Benedict says.

Sister Teresa made First Profession at the Monastery of St. Gertrude, Cottonwood, Idaho in 2000 and began working with the retreat ministry. As part of an outreach program, she traveled across Idaho, Washington, and Oregon facilitating retreats as well as organizing meaningful experiences for often overlooked groups – parish secretaries and women pastors, for example – at the Monastery. In 2007-8, Sister Teresa earned her Certificate in Monastic Studies from St. John’s University in Minnesota.
