Ann Dibble

Ann is a librarian, and the daughter of a librarian, who has loved books since she sat on her father’s lap, learning to read from Dr. Seuss.  More recently, she learned a method of bookbinding from Sister Placida and saw how it could become a spiritual practice.

Book Binding Retreat
February 12 - 16, 2027

Monasteries have been binding books for more than a thousand years, for the glory of God.  The Monastery of St. Gertrude participated in this tradition.  A sacrament is where the human meets the holy, come and learn how it is done, and leave with a blank book you created yourself in an atmosphere of prayer.  While the glue dries, there will be time for contemplation, discussion, or time alone in nature.  Limit six.  If there is more interest, another retreat will be scheduled.
