In September we hosted the first ever “area circle” in the Puget Sound area and invited friends and supporters of St. Gertrude’s to hear what is going on with the Monastery.

At the end of January we will be following up on our first gathering by hosting a day long retreat to share what it means to live monastic values in everyday life.

Please join us for:

Finding God in Everyday Life: An introduction to Benedictine spirituality for seekers

Presented by: Sr. Teresa Jackson of the Monastery of St. Gertrude and Oblates (lay members) of the Monastery from Puget Sound.  Join us as we:

  • Explore the Benedictine values of silence, lectio (praying with Scripture) simplicity and service and how to incorporate them in your life
  • Share stories with other attendees, oblates and sisters
  • Learn more about the Oblates of the Monastery of St. Gertrude
  • Consider participating in a four week follow-up program, a “covenant group” of fellow participants who commit themselves to going deeper in living these Benedictine values in their lives.

January 30th, 10:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m.  St. Jude’s Parish, Redmond, WA with a light lunch served

There is no charge for this program.  It is a way for the Monastery to give something back to our generous supporters.
